Frequently Asked Questions

How?

How do I know which course I should enrol on?

If you're unsure as to whether you should enrol on a Level 1 or a Level 2 course with e-achieve contact us by phone or email. One of our experienced, informative advisors will be happy to talk through the options available to you and help you to make the right decision.

How do I reserve a place on a course?

It's simple to reserve a place on any of our courses:

1. Simply pick up the phone and call us on 0191 240 50 60 and speak to one of our helpful advisors, in just 15 minutes we'll help to identify the right course for you, find your nearest centre and reserve you a place on the next available course.  We'll happily call you straight back to help save on your phone bill.

2. If you already know which course you want to do you can apply online.  Just find the course you want to enrol on in the "Forthcoming Courses" section and click on "Apply Now".  Enter your details and hit "Submit" and your place on your chosen course will be reserved.  One of our advisors will contact you by phone or email to confirm your place.

How long are the courses and how often will I need to attend?

The Level 1 courses are typically a minimum of 8 sessions in length.  These sessions are usually held over a period of 4 weeks so you would attend 2 days per week over the duration of the course.

The Level 2 courses are a minimum of 10 sessions.  These courses last 5 weeks with sessions also held twice a week.

Most of the sessions are over a full day with regular breaks.  We understand that you may have other commitments meaning you have to leave early for an appointment or to collect children from school.  We build plenty of time in at the end of each course for you to catch up if you miss anything.

How long will it take for my certificate to be delivered?

Once you have completed your course and your tutor has marked your work it will be checked internally before it is sent to the Edexcel, the Awarding Body e-achieve work with.  They will then process your work, print your certicate and send it to us before we post it on to you.  This process can take 6-8 weeks so don't worry if you don't received your certificate straight after the course completes.  If you require evidence that you completed the course before your official certificate arrives e-achieve can provide you with a temporary certificate.

How many learners are on each course?

To make sure every individual gets the right level of support and attention there are usually no more than 15 learners on each course.  Places for each course fill up very quickly so make sure you book your place well in advance to avoid disappointment.

How much does a course with e-achieve cost?

If you live in the UK and are in receipt of state benefits you will usually be entitled to a FREE place on any of our courses! This includes access to all resources and certification.

How old do I need to be to enrol?

How will my work be marked?

The work you produce on your course will be marked by your tutor at the end of each session.  You will have the chance to correct any mistakes before it is submitted to the Awarding Body.

How will this course help get me back into employment?

92% of all jobs in the UK now require IT User Skills* so if you don't have any IT skills or they need brushing up there's a good chance you're missing out on employment opportunities as a result.  As most vacancies are now advertised on job search websites such as Monster, employers demand CVs to be sent to them by email and that they are created using Word Processing software it's essential to have the IT skills to find employment as well as in your new job.

What?

What do I need to bring with me?

In short, nothing!  We provide the all equipment, resources, and stationery!  If you have your own lap top computer and would prefer to learn using this then you can bring this with you and use it instead of the equipment we provide.  Please let us know beforehand if you would like to do this as we may need to check you have the right software and virus protection.

What happens if I find employment before I complete the course?

If you manage to secure employment before your course completes you are still entitled to finish the course and gain the iTQ certificate.  If you expect to start your new job before the course comes to an end please speak with your tutor who can make suitable arrangements for you to complete any outstanding work.  If you have access to a computer at home you may be able to complete any remaining tasks through distance learning.  If you are working part time and your new job does not clash with the courses sessions you can continue on the course until you complete.  If you gain temporary work you can re-join a later course to complete your learning once your contract ends.

What if there are other units I want to learn that aren't taught?

The iTQ courses we offer cover the key areas of IT that most employers in the UK want to see candidates showing knowledge of.  There are over 80 units to choose from in total and whilst we can't cover them all we will strive to tailor a course to your needs if there are specific modules you would like to focus on.
