More than 130 new jobs are to be created at a South Tyneside factory.
Vince Cable announced jobs when he visited the Barbour factory at Simonside, South Shields, today.
He said: “Barbour clearly has the right approach and I was most impressed with the skills on display at the factory today.
“A Regional Growth Fund award will create over 130 jobs and help another British success story to meet demands for markets abroad.”
Brenda Readman-Bell, Barbour group finance director, said: “We were delighted to welcome Mr Cable and show him just how the Regional Growth Fund grant will be used.”
